Dell has recently released a new BIOS version for its Latitude ST tablet. Version A09 fixes the inability to save date and time in BIOS using F10. In addition to this, a new help message for system time and date has been added.

The update comes with an “exe” extension, which means that Windows users will be able to install it by simply executing the file and following the on-screen instructions.

For those who use a different OS, the update procedure requires some extra steps. First of all, copy the update file to a bootable DOS USB drive. Power on the system and enter BIOS setup by pressing the F2 key.

In the “Boot” section, select “Boot List Options” and then change “UEFI” to “Legacy.”

Save and exit the BIOS setup and, after the reboot, press F12 to display the boot options. Pick “USB Storage Device” from the list and boot to DOS prompt.

Run the file by typing its name (i.e. X:\ST_A09.exe) and pressing the “Enter” key. The system will restart and the BIOS will be flashed while the system startup screen is displayed. When it completes, another restart will be performed.

The update is installed and you can now enter BIOS setup again and undo the changes you've made in “Boot List Options.”

Get the new BIOS at the link below, install it, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
