The A1 revision of D-Link’s wireless network camera, namely the DCS-2230 Full HD device, now has enhanced performance and operability thanks to the 1.20.00 firmware version that it benefits from.

The new package fixes the UPnP GPL open source issue (memory overflow), removes the guest account from the device, and improves the codec performance. Moreover, it raises the camera’s throughput ability and changes the RTSP authentication default setting.

As for applying the firmware, open a web browser, enter the IP address of the camera, and log into the device’s web interface. Now go to Maintenance → Firmware Upgrade, and click on the “Browse …” button.

Navigate and select the firmware file located within the downloadable zip archive, confirm your selection, and click on the “Upload” button. At this point, the file is transferred to the device, and you just have to wait for the timer to run out; and that’s all.

However, make sure the configuration settings are saved before the update, and don’t perform the installation through a wireless connection because it can easily lead to an update failure or render your camera unstable.

Now that you have taken into account all the important aspects, follow the link below, and download the archive that contains the latest firmware version for your DCS-2230 camera.
