After D-Link has been alerted by CORE Security Technologies of specific security vulnerabilities, its team found workaround and has released new beta firmware versions for some of the IP Camera devices.

The products that benefit from the newly released packages are the DCS-1100, DCS-1130, and DCS-3410 – build 7712; DCS-5605 and DCS-5635 – build 7812; and DCS-942L – build 2615.

Each download record provides the beta firmware that includes a security patch for users who want to immediately update to the latest version through a manual process.

If upgraded, the RTSP authentication will be enabled by default and CoreSecurity vulnerability issues will be fixed.

As for installing the package, from the camera’s web interface go to MAINTENANCE > Firmware Upgrade > Browse..., and select the firmware file that is found within the downloadable archive.

Click “Upload” to copy the firmware onto the D-Link camera, that afterwards will trigger the update process – wait until the upgrade is complete, and that’s all.

To ensure that you have no problems and there will be no settings lost, be sure to save the Configuration Settings File before starting the update, and furthermore, do not start the process via wireless connection.

That said, follow one of the links below depending on your camera’s build number and download the latest firmware for your device.
