Today, Creative has announced the availability of the 150511 firmware package targeted at its Sound Blaster E5 USB DAC and portable headphone amplified, which adds compatibility with 24-bit/96kHz playback mode for iOS devices.

Moreover, this new update also includes support for mixer control in standalone and mobile modes, adds Scout Mode support (Double-press SBX Button), and allows muting S/PDIF-out when a headphone jack is connected.

In addition to that, firmware 150511 will also give owners the ability to disable or enable charging through micro-USB port by double-pressing the Power button.

When it comes to installation, first of all you should know that this package is to be used on computers running one of Microsoft’s Windows Vista, 7, 8, or 8.1 operating systems, thus make sure yours is supported.

If all is OK, make sure the E5 unit is attached to your computer, save and run the downloadable package on your device’s storage, and follow all instructions displayed on-screen for a complete and successful upgrade.

Last but not least, once the installation has finished, it would be a good idea to allow the wizard to perform a system reboot. If this task isn’t requested automatically, make sure to carry it out manually.

That being said, download Creative Sound Blaster E5 Firmware 150511, apply it on your device, and enjoy the changes that this new release brings about. Also, don’t forget to check our website as often as possible in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
