Just now, Creative has announced the availability of a new driver developed for its Sound Blaster Z audio card series, namely version 1.00.24, which is compatible with Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems.

The newly-released version includes several changes that improve the driver’s overall performance and stability, adds support for Microsoft’s latest Windows platform (Windows 8.1), and also includes compatibility with ASIO recording.

Therefore, if you intend to use one of Creative’s Sound Blaster Z, Zx, and ZxR cards on a computer running Windows 8.1, as well as benefit from the aforementioned changes, then do apply this driver version.

To do so, simply make sure the audio card is properly connected to the motherboard, then get and run the downloadable package. Now, wait for the installer to extract all the required files for the upgrade, select your desired language, and follow the displayed instructions for a complete installation.

In addition to that, upon completion, the wizard should ask for your permission to reboot the system, so make sure you choose “Restart Now.” However, if this task isn’t requested, perform a manual restart in order for all changes to take effect properly.

That being said, download Creative Sound Blaster Z Series Driver 1.00.24 for the appropriate device, apply the new version and enjoy your newly-updated audio card.
