Just now, Creative has released a new firmware package targeted at its Sound Blaster Recon3D and Sound Blaster Recon3D Omega Wireless devices, namely version 13.07.01, which is compatible with both Windows and Mac platforms.

Specifically speaking, the producer has made available two download records for each of the compatible units: one targeted at Microsoft’s Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems (both 32- and 64-bit variants), and the other at Intel-based machines running Mac OS X 10.5.8 or above.

As for the changes, this fresh update fixes an issue where the device would freeze after usage, and adds workarounds for the LED feature that didn’t work properly.

When it comes to applying this release, you should simply download the suitable package for your system’s characteristics, set the Sound Blaster Recon3D to PC Mode, and connect it to the computer’s USB port (using a hub isn’t recommended).

Now run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions for a complete installation. After the upgrade has finished, reconnect the device to the USB port.

Although this process is quite simple, make sure the device is always connected to the computer during the firmware update. Moreover, do not unplug the device or restart the system while the installation is in progress so that the Sound Blaster unit doesn’t encounter any problems.

That being said, download Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D Firmware 13.07.01 for the proper device and operating system, take into account all the aforementioned aspects, apply the new firmware, and enjoy your newly updated device.
