Today, Creative has just made available a new firmware package targeted at two of its Sound Blaster headsets, namely version 140403 compatible with the EVO Zx and ZxR devices, which adds USB audio compatibility with Sony’s PlayStation 4 gaming console.

This newly released update consists of two downloadable records for each device: one developed for both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems, and the other compatible with Mac OS X 10.5.8 and above platforms.

If you intend to apply this firmware, get the proper package suitable for your system configuration, make sure the Sound Blaster headset is connected to the computer, run the newly downloaded file, and follow the on-screen instructions for a complete installation.

After the process has finished, it is recommended that you unplug the headset from the computer and then connect it again in order to ensure that all changes take effect properly.

Bear in mind that, during the upgrade process, the Sound Blaster EVO Zx(R) unit mustn’t be disconnected and, moreover, do not restart the computer until the firmware has been applied. In addition to that, make sure you use a USB port instead of a hub for this process.

That being said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your Creative headset and then click on the download record that suits your OS; apply the new firmware and check with our website constantly to be “updated one minute ago.”
