Both USB transmitter and headset must be upgraded in order for the changes to be usable

Just now, Creative has rolled out a new firmware package compatible with its Sound Blaster Tactic3D Rage wireless headset and USB transmitter, namely version 1.59, which adds USB audio support for Sony’s PlayStation 4 gaming console.

In order for this modification to work properly, both the headset and the transmitter must be upgraded to the present release.

To do so, first get and extract the appropriate downloadable archive: save the Mac package if your system is running Mac OS X 10.5.8 or above, or the other package if Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, or 8.1 platform is currently installed on your computer.

Afterwards, connect only the transmitter to the USB port, run the “SBTR_MCFW_WL_US_TX_1_59_140721” file from the newly-extracted folder, and follow the on-screen instructions. Also, upon completion, make sure to reconnect the device to the USB port.

If the transmitter has been completely upgraded, remove it from the computer and connect the wireless headset, run the “SBTR_MCFW_WL_US_RX_1_58_A_121101” file, and follow the aforementioned steps once more.

When done, press and hold the MIC button on the headset until the connect LED begins flashing, do the same with the Connect button on the transmitter, and wait for the devices to successfully pair (the LED stops blinking).

That being said, download Creative Sound Blaster Tactic3D Rage Wireless Firmware 1.59 for the compatible OS, take into account all aspects described above, and update your headset to the latest firmware version.
