CradlePoint has rolled out a new firmware update compatible with some of its wireless units, namely version 5.2.2, which adds support for the producer’s new CradlePoint Secure Connect (CPSC) Port Forwarding feature.

This addition allows users to implement a CPSC tunnel to a specific zone for Port Forwarding traffic from the tunnel. In addition to that, the zone’s rules that specify the port forwarding destination can be created for any source zone and apply to all traffic.

Firmware 5.2.2 also includes a new Rule Priority column (for sorting), changes the System Identifier and VPN Tunnels Pre-Shared Key filters so that they now support all ASCII characters, and fixes the Active DNS failover issue that wouldn’t work on a wired WAN connection.

In addition to that, Wi-Fi settings won’t show blank when using Changing Channel Selection or refreshing the screen, configurable settings for IPv4 Failure Check are available, Zone Firewall GRE filtering now works properly, and the IPS Signatures whitelist can be modified without any problems.

Besides the aforementioned changes, the IBR600 and IBR650 device receive a new Smart Operator Selection option that chooses the best network based on user values. Also, the problem with the GPIO Output not switching values when the modem is connected has been resolved.

That being said, download CradlePoint Router Firmware 5.2.2 for your specific device model (if not found, then this update isn’t compatible with your product), apply it on the unit, and constantly check out our website in order to stay “update one minute ago.”
