CradlePoint has just announced the availability of firmware 5.3.0 for several of its routers, which modifies link speed configuration in order to set the Ethernet port to a specified value (instead of auto-negotiation), and implements several other changes.

Before highlighting the other fixes and improvements, you should first know that this release is only available for CradlePoint’s AER2100, MBR1200B, MBR1400, MBR1400 HW v2.0, IBR600, IBR650, IBR1100, IBR1150, and CBA750B devices.

With this in mind, if you upgrade your router to this release, it will benefit from VLAN Redesign and ZScaler Internet Security options, HTTP Proxy and LLDP support, as well as additional features that allow setting Packet Size, Don’t Fragment, MTU discovery, and others.

In addition to that, SNMP traffic on the WAN interface is possible when, in IP Passthrough mode, MAC Address can be filtered by range allowing a specific range to connect to the router, and SNMP password (the same with Administration pass) will be required when in Advanced Security Mode.

When it comes to the AER2100 unit, this device receives Airtime Fairness support (disabled by default), firewall integration with IPS, as well as improved visibility and configuration of “Threat Management” categories and signatures.

As for IBR600, IBR650, IBR1100, and IBR1150 routers, they now benefit from Smart Operator Selection (chooses the best network based on user-configurable values) and Modem Multi-Carrier Software Switching (only of North American carriers) options.

Last but not least, CradlePoint’s IBR1100 LTE device also gets OpenVPN and VLAN support enabled by default, as well as compatibility with TAIP feature.

That being said, download CradlePoint Router Firmware 5.3.0 for your appropriate router model, apply it, and enjoy the changes this new release brings about. Also, constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
