Corsair has outed a new firmware package compatible with its Voyager Air and Voyager Air 2 wireless storages, namely version 2.0.17, which can be applied on the drive regardless of the operating system installed on your computer.

Specifically speaking, simply get and extract the downloadable archive, and make sure the device’s battery level is at least at 20% before initiating the upgrade. With this in mind, we recommend that you connect the Voyager Air to a stable power source.

Now, connect the drive to the computer through a USB cable, power on the device, navigate to the newly-created folder, and transfer the “VoyagerAir-dev.pkg” file onto the drive’s root directory. Bear in mind that, if the .pkg file isn’t copied correctly, you won’t be able to initiate the upgrade.

When done, turn off the Voyager Air, remove the USB cable, and power it back on; at this point, the Wi-Fi icon starts blinking meaning that the drive has recognized the update file and has initialized installation.

Since an update failure can cause serious device malfunctions, make sure not to interrupt the installation while the upgrade is in progress. The new firmware will be successfully applied when the Wi-Fi icon will stop blinking.

In addition to that, you should also know that installing this firmware version will rename the drive to its default “VoyagerAir” name and remove any existing wireless password.

That being said, download Corsair Voyager Air Wireless Storage Firmware 2.0.17, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and update your drive to the latest firmware version.
