Corsair has just rolled out a new firmware update developed for its Raptor HS40 gaming headset, namely version 1.09, which fixes the compatibility issue regarding Microsoft’s Windows Speech Recognition application.

In order to get rid of this problem, first make sure your computer configuration is supported by this release. The present update is compatible with both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows XP, 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems.

Therefore, if you are running one of the aforementioned OSes, then save and extract the downloadable archive, and make sure the Raptor HS40 is connected directly to the computer’s USB port (using a USB hub isn’t recommended as it might disconnect without reason).

Now open the newly created folder, run the “Setup.exe” file, and follow the on-screen instructions for a complete and successful installation. Also, if the wizard doesn’t request it upon completion, it would be best if a manual reboot were performed to make sure all changes take effect.

As for the driver builds present in this release, the update process applies the 5.12.1.10, 7.0.1.11, 8.0.1.11, and 8.1.1.14 versions on Windows XP, 7, 8, and 8.1 platforms, respectively.

With this in mind, download Corsair Raptor HS40 Headset Firmware 1.09, take into account all above-described aspects, update the Raptor device, and enjoy your newly improved 7.1 USB gaming headset.
