After numerous user complains related to the latest firmware, Corsair has finally released the 5.05a version that is targeted at its Force, GT, and GS SSDs, as well as NOVA and Accelerator devices.

Although, the download links are working, Corsair hasn’t provided any change log whatsoever, but the package might at least improve the overall performance of the devices on which it is installed.

Corsair recommends that if the device doesn’t have any issues that bother you, updating to the newer firmware isn’t recommended. But if needed, make sure to back up important files, even if the package shouldn’t be destructive.

Moreover, the 5.05a version is certified for Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating systems, and although it might work on Vista and XP platforms, it is strongly recommended that you use the validated OS when possible.

Furthermore, if updated and the issues still persist, it is recommended that you completely clear the BIOS (good idea for any firmware updates though) or erase the SSD. If this doesn’t work, you could perform a clean OS installation – this should do the trick.

Now, follow the link below, and from the list, very carefully choose the link that best describes your SSD
