Convergent Design has made available a new firmware package compatible with its Odyssey7 and Odyssey7Q recorders, namely version 2.11.110, which adds Higher Frame Rates support for Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) in 1080p.

In addition to that, this new release allows scrubbing through clips while the file is playing or paused, adds selectable Pixel Zoom Drag Orientation function, fixes the Time of Day Timecode issue, and resolves the Timecode triggering behavior in 720p.

If updated to this version, the other issues, such as the backward file compatibility during firmware updates, the 1080psf audio sync problem in Playback, and the black dots in live image when overexposing or white-clipping, will also be resolved.

Moreover, the present update fixes the “Ticking” audio error encountered after 720p file recovery, the Pixel Zoom mode image distortion on OLED, and the false-triggering behavior when the recorder is set to camera trigger.

Firmware version 2.11.110 also improves the touchscreen response and recalibrates it when F1 Lock button is pressed, and removes the false “Warranty Void” message displayed on some devices powered by previous software builds.

Besides the aforementioned changes, the Odyssey7Q unit also receives compatibility with Canon C500 High Speed RAW, gets a new POV RAW record option for Purchase or Rent, and supports Sony FS700 4K2HD recording up to 60p.

That being said, download Convergent Design Odyssey7 Recorder Firmware 2.11.110 or download Convergent Design Odyssey7Q Recorder Firmware 2.11.110, apply it on the device, and enjoy the new changes that this release brings about.
