Convergent Design has made available a new firmware package targeted at its Odyssey7Q recorder, namely version 1.11.100, which includes several changes that should improve the device’s overall performance, stability, and usability.

Specifically speaking, this newly-released version includes a new “Zoom Memory” feature that remembers screen coordinates from a previous use, updates the multi-stream interface with A, B, C, and D buttons, and adds support for REC709 (800%) gamma setting.

In addition to that, the LUT function has also been added in 4K2HD mode, the “Waveform” and “Histogram” options can be used while recording, and the “Variframe mode detected” issue encountered when Canon C300 was used has been resolved.

Moreover, PSF input signal support has been resolved, the ProRes(HQ) HDMI input issue has been fixed, DPX end clip error will not be encountered anymore, and noise (in dark areas), as well as color fringing (at high contrast), has been reduced.

Version 1.11.100 also resolves several playback, timecode accuracy, and audio channel flipping problems regarding the Apple ProRes(HQ) and 4K2HD modes.

When it comes to installing the new firmware, it would be best if you referred to the update instructions located within the downloadable archive and consider applying this release only when you have familiarized yourself with all the steps.

That being said, download Convergent Design Odyssey7Q Recorder Firmware 1.11.100, apply the update, and enjoy your newly-improved professional recorder.
