Two new Conexant SmartAudio HD packages have been spotted on Microsoft’s Update Catalog, namely version 8.65.35.50, which are compatible only with Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems (a file for each of the 32- and 64-bit architectures).

As it isn’t provided as an .exe file format, in order for the installation process to require only to open the executable and follow the on-screen instructions, I will highlight the steps to be taken in order to properly apply this release.

Because the same characteristics don’t apply to the Microsoft-related package that is available as a cabinet file, the installation isn’t as easy as one, two, three, but not too difficult either.

Specifically speaking, after you get the .cab file, you must go to the Device Manager, right-click on the “High Definition Audio Device” and select “Update Driver Software,” browse and select the downloaded .cab file, and agree with the installation by pressing the “Next” button.

That being said, download Conexant SmartAudio HD Driver 8.65.35.50 or download Conexant SmartAudio HD Driver 8.65.35.50 64-bit depending on your system’s specifications, look for the compatible Windows bit variant, apply it to your system, and enjoy your newly updated audiodevice.
