Today, Canon has announced the availability of a new firmware package developed for one of its digital SLR cameras, namely version 2.0.3 compatible with the EOS-1D X device, which includes several fixes and new features that improve the camera’s overall performance and stability.

Through this fresh update, the camera has increased focusing performance under low-light conditions, raised shutter speed limit (up to 1/8000), and a new function that allows the playback and review of protected images only. Moreover, Canon EOS-1DX Camera Firmware 2.0.3 changes don’t stop here.

As for installing version 2.0.3, first you should know that this package is targeted at cameras that have the 1.2.4 (or earlier) firmware installed, and once updated to 2.0.3, restoring to a previous build will not be possible.

Therefore, if you have understood these aspects, get and expand the downloadable archive, copy the “1DX00203.FIR” file onto a formatted CF card, and insert it into the EOS camera.

Now power on the device, go to Menu → Setup → Firmware Ver.x.x.x, press the “Set” button, select “Ok” at the next dialog, select and confirm the “1DX00203.FIR” file you have copied onto the card, agree with the update process, and let the camera do the rest.

When the firmware installation finishes, press “Ok,” turn off the camera, and remove its battery for at least 2 seconds. Afterwards, connect it back, remove the CF card, power the EOS-1D X on, and that’s quite all.

That being said, download Firmware 2.0.3 for Canon EOS-1D X Camera, take into account all the above-mentioned aspects, apply this latest update, and enjoy your newly improved camera.
