Canon has just unveiled its latest firmware versions for some of its EOS-1D digital SLR cameras, namely version 1.3.2, 1.2.3, and 1.1.4 developed for the EOS-1D Mark III, EOS-1Ds Mark III, and EOS-1D Mark IV devices, respectively.

The new release consists of separate download records compatible with MAC platforms, as well as with both bit-variants of all of Microsoft’s Windows operating systems, aside from the 64-bit version of XP.

Each of the versions removes the risk of premature battery drain for its related camera, which might be caused by an issue where the power consumption is higher than normal when the camera isn’t attached to a lens.

Moreover, the “Err 02” error that might have been displayed when releasing the shutter without lenses attached to the device is also resolved.

So, if you consider applying these latest versions, you should know that while the upgrade is in progress, interrupting it in any way might cause an update failure and, therefore, serious damage to the digital camera.

That being said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your Canon EOS device, and from the list, choose the one that specifies your system’s platform.
