Buffalo has made available a new firmware package targeted at its DriveStation Duo USB 3.0 storages, namely version 1.00 compatible with HD-WLU3/R1 and HD-WHU3/R1 models, which resolves a few issues regarding connectivity and booting.

Specifically speaking, this fresh update resolves a problem where the storages wouldn’t boot properly when their hard drive failed. Also, when connected to a Mac unit, the issue where the DriveStation Duo models wouldn’t be recognized at all if the computer was restarted has been fixed as well.

Last but not least, Buffalo’s update corrects an improper behavior of the internal temperature monitor, which didn’t work accurately when the computer either rebooted or recovered from hibernation mode.

As for installing firmware 1.00, first of all, make sure you back up all important data stored on your DriveStation. Also, if two or more storages are owned, Buffalo highly recommends that you update one drive at a time.

Moreover, before initiating this process, you must also remove any USB devices connected to your computer (except keyboard and mouse).

With this in mind, download the appropriate package suitable for your system configuration (available for both Windows and Mac OS platforms), extract it, locate and run the firmware updater, and follow all instructions displayed on screen for a complete and successful installation.

Therefore, download Buffalo DriveStation Duo Firmware 1.00 for your specific device model and system OS, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and upgrade your USB 3.0 storage.
