Despite our expectations, Biostar does not seem to be that much interested in the X79 boards. There's only one motherboard loaded with this chipset and today we can list for you the second BIOS revision for it.

Now, it's rather hard to tell whether the initial BIOS was good, and therefore missed all the flames and sparks other boards went through, or Biostar's interest for this sector is very low. Nevertheless, the Biostar TPower X79 Ver. 5.x gets BIOS version 213, and it's a Beta, promising better Turbo Boost functionality.

As for today's list, a new board (and BIOS) for an AM3+ board from Asrock, new Gigabyte stable and beta software, and the rest is below:

Asrock 960GM/U3S3 FX Bios 1.10 Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-UD2H (rev. 1.0) Bios F8 Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-UD2H (rev. 1.0) Bios F9B Beta HP G71-345CL Notebook BIOS F.23 HP G71-347CL Notebook BIOS F.23 Acer Ferrari 3400 Notebook BIOS 3C19 Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E220s BIOS 1.21 for XP/Windows 7 HP G71-349WM Notebook BIOS F.23 Biostar TPower X79 Ver. 5.x Bios 213 Beta

As both hardware and software evolve, old BIOSes might become unstable or simply prevent you from using your computer to its full potential. Therefore it is highly recommended to always use the most recent BIOS version available.
