14 DAY TRIAL // EVGA readies revision 36 for their X79 motherboard trio: X79 Classified, X79 FTW and X79 SLI. It’s a funny thing that it's only been around a fortnight since the previous BIOS release, not that having new software wouldn't be just great.
With EVGA usually delivering new BIOS for these three boards at a pace of around once a month, we believe that the new software has to do with OCZ's RevoDrive 3. And yes, one thing in the changelog refers directly to the support for the new OCZ SSD.
Other changes include the possibility to save up to 8 BIOS profiles; if you're a gamer or are using your computer for certain heavy-duty task every now and then, being able to easily and quickly choose between various performance profiles can come in quite handy.
Along with the CPU Microcode, the DQ Vref Voltage and the VCore Default have also been updated / fixed and a smoother performance is to be expected. Finally, the 36 BIOS revision gets additional memory timings for compatibility with a wider range of modules.
