Well known for its custom firmware packages, AsusWrt-Merlin has rolled out a new update targeted at several ASUS routers, namely version 3.0.0.4.376.45, which can be applied regardless of the operating system powering your computer.

This new release updates dropbear and LZO to version 2014.65 and 2.08, and includes compiled vsftpd with SSL support. However, to make use of the vsftpd feature, you must manually configure it in order to work properly.

In addition to that, build 376.45 adds several security fixes by applying a new 1.0.0n OpenSSL version, reworks the VPN Server pages in order to be more intuitive, and resolves the issue with the garbled client dropdown selector on the DNSFilter page.

If this new release is applied, the IPv6 will work properly even when using PPPoE WAN interface thanks to pinwing’s patch, and the Comcast neighbour solicitation block can now be enabled as a result of Sinshiva’s work.

Moreover, a new Report FA state is present of the Sysinfo page, the PControl page now works properly on French and Italian locales, and the 5 GHz N+AC mode won’t set the router to N-only mode automatically.

As for the compatible routers, this new release can be applied on ASUS’ RT-N16 and RT-N66 wireless units, as well as on the RT-AC56, RT-AC66, RT-AC68, and RT-AC87 devices.

That being said, download AsusWrt-Merlin Firmware 3.0.0.4.376.45 for you specific model, apply it on the device, and enjoy the new changes that this release brings about. Also, constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
