After two beta releases, namely AsusWrt-Merlin Firmware 376.44 Beta 1 and AsusWrt-Merlin Firmware 376.44 Beta 2, the developer has just announced the availability of the stable version of the same 376.44 build.

This new update merges with ASUS’ 376.2044 GPL, resolves the missing rules issue for OpenVPN firewall cleanup, fixes the incorrect IPv6 prefix when not a multiple of 8, and changes the webUI visual interface.

In addition to that, version 376.44 updates the miniDLNA, radvd, and DNSmasq components, and removes IPsec support for the RT-AC56 and RT-AC68 devices due to various compatibility problems.

If applied, this latest release maintains several changes made by the previous beta 2 version, such as support for the RT-AC87 router and for the new network map that allows users to change various names and icons.

Moreover, all ARM models now use the new drivers from Tuxera that should improve the USB disk performance, the wifi notifications icon properly reports the channel’s extension, the system log is positioned correctly at the bottom, and several other changes included in the previous beta 2 update are now considered as stable.

As for the beta 1 release, resolved issues such as the miniDLNA bugs regarding Philips smart TVs, the SSHD brute force protection problems, and the miniupnpd flood errors in Syslog are also included within this present version.
