Today, AsusWrt-Merlin has rolled out a newer version of its custom firmware packages, namely build 378.54.1, which updates miniupnpd to 1.9.20150430, fixes AiProtection security check (when Dual WAN is enabled), and includes several other changes.

This present update modifies OpenVPN policy routing rules so that they are now applied at boot time, adds new ones to allow routing matching traffic through either the tunnel or your ISP, and gives the OS the ability to manage socket buffers.

In addition to that, it upgrades OpenSSL to 1.0.2a, applies Quantenna firmware 378_6065 release (only for AC87 models), reverts kernel backport of parallel printer support in order to try fix printing breakage issues.

Moreover, this new release removes the buggy AiProtection's ad blocker, fixes missing userspace tool for EMF, and implements several other changes that are described in the Release Notes below.

When it comes to installation, simply save and unzip the appropriate package for your device model, log into your router’s administration page, and use the newly extracted .trx file to initiate the upgrade.

Last but not least, an important aspect should be taken into account: if you were using the removed ad blocker, you’ll need to disable it manually after applying this firmware build (run “nvram set wrs_adblock_popup=0,” “nvram set wrs_adblock_stream=0,” “and nvram commit”).

Therefore, download AsusWrt-Merlin Router Firmware 378.54.1 for your specific model, apply it, and enjoy the changes that this new release brings about. Also, constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
