Asrock reveals the initial official BIOS for one of their top-of-the-line motherboards, the X79 Extreme9. As its very name says it, the new board is built on Intel's X79 chipset and comes with support for the Core i7 processor family and LGA2011 socket. The Asrock X79 Extreme9 can accommodate up to 64GB of DDR3 (2400+ and even overclocked) in 8 slots running in a Quad Channel array. Gold-plated capacitors represent an interesting addition to the otherwise rather casual Asrock products.

One nifty bonus is the top-notch audio card which comes with the X79 Extreme9: the Creative Sound Core3D 7.1 CH HD audio card will help gamers immerse deeper in the virtual worlds while offering great sound for other types of media as well.

The BIOS can be updated via Instant Flash and will improve the CPU and memory capabilities while optimizing and hopefully – lowering the power consumption. The Asrock X79 Extreme9 BIOS 1.40 is waiting for you on Softpedia, and it's as fresh as it gets.
