Asrock unveils a new board based on the Dual-Core Atom technology and running with the D2550 CPU. The new motherboard is codenamed AD2550B-ITX and we've already listed drivers, BIOS and utilities for it, for free download.

The AD2550B-ITX can be a very good choice for those looking to build a new system with a small size, but packing enough processing power to be useful with almost any application. The 1.86 GHz CPU can receive up to 4 GB of 1066MHz DDR3 memory and despite the “casual” performance specs, Asrock's proprietary technologies seem to be able to make it stand out from the crowd.

The XFast RAM technology allows the system to create a virtual disk from the available system memory and help things move faster. Asrock declares that users can get applications such as Photoshop to work up to 5 times faster thanks to the XFast RAM. At the same time, XFast USB and XFast LAN will enhance online gaming and data transfer speed for a richer computer experience.

AD2550B-ITX sports a fanless design for quiet operation and zero cooler maintenance, the intuitive UEFI BIOS and THX TruStudio HD-compliant audio specs. No USB 3.0 connectors and no SATA 3.0 ports are available, though.
