ASUS has outed two new firmware packages developed for its 7-inch MeMO Pad 7 (ME170C) and its 10.1-inch Transformer Pad (TF103C) tablets, namely versions 10.32.1.31.2 and 2.0.33.80, respectively.

Although no changelog is provided along with the updates, I assume that applying the packages might improve overall system performance and stability, as well as add various feature enhancements. Still, you should upgrade to these version if you want to find out what the changes really are.

To do so, first go to Settings > About Tablet > Build Number and check the currently installed firmware so that it isn’t either newer or matching the present release. If not, be sure to remember the tablet’s SKU (the first letters of the build number) in order to download the proper firmware package.

With these preparations made, save and unzip the firmware archive that best describes both your tablet model and SKU version. Afterwards, connect the device to the computer using a USB cable, and copy the newly extracted .zip file to the internal storage’s root folder.

When the firmware has successfully transferred, disconnect the device from the computer, tap on the “System Update File Detected” from the notification list, select “Ok” at the following dialogs, and wait for the Android to be updated.

Bear in mind that, since an installation failure can brick your device, it is recommended that the power cable be connected to the tablet during the installation. Also, upon completion, the unit will automatically reboot and display an “Android is upgrading ...” message – after the apps are optimized, you’re good to go.

That being said, download ASUS TF103C Transformer Pad Firmware 2.0.33.80 or download ASUS ME170C MeMO Pad 7 Firmware 10.32.1.31.2, depending on which device you own, make sure you are familiarized with the installation steps, and update your tablet software to the latest version.
