After having provided ASUS RT-AC87, -AC66, and -AC56 Firmware 3.0.0.4.378.6117 Beta just yesterday, the producer has now rolled out new firmware packages targeted at its RT-N66, RT-AC68, and RT-AC3200 wireless routers.

Specifically speaking, ASUS has made available version 3.0.0.4.378.6091 beta for its RT-AC3200 model, firmware 3.0.0.4.378.6117 beta targeted at RT-N66 (R, W, and U) routers, as well as the 3.0.0.4.378.6152 beta package suitable for RT-AC68 (P, R, U, and W) devices.

In terms of changes, each release fixes some 3G/LTE dongle issues, such as for lockpin and send_sms functions, web redirected failure after setting PPPoE, or the executed time issue when using auto-APN.

Moreover, ASUS has updated SPN data from Android, reduced media server memory usage when scanning for certain formats, fixed dnsmasq buffer overflow and https only redirect issues, and resolves various problems with USB hub connections.

In addition to that, these updates also improve login authentication security level, force users to change the default “admin” password, add GUI login brute-force attack protection, and implement several other changes highlighted in the description page of each download.

When it comes to installation, since this firmware modifies the login authentication method, you must remove the connected storages (if any) prior to initiating any upgrade. Besides this, the process can be performed like any previous firmware update.

That being said, from the links below, follow the one best describing your router series and precise device model, apply it on your ASUS wireless unit, and enjoy the changes this new release brings about.
