ASUS has rolled out a new BIOS package targeted at most of its Intel Z87 chipset-based motherboards, namely version 1405, which promises to improve the compatible devices’ overall stability and performance.

Specifically speaking, the boards compatible with this latest release are ASUS’ Z87-A, -C, -PRO, and -PLUS products, as well as the SABERTOOTH Z87, Z87-DELUXE, and -DELUXE/DUAL devices.

For some of the units, version 1405 also revises the BIOS help string and includes support for the audio DTS (Digital Theater Systems) function.

As for installing the package, first check whether your currently installed version doesn’t match the latest one (if it does, then no further action is needed), and make sure you back up your important configurations.

Moreover, while the upgrade is in progress, don’t shut down or reset the system because this could lead to an update failure which may render your motherboard unstable.

That being said, follow the link below, and from the list, choose the one that best describes your ASUS motherboard, download the BIOS, and update the device to the latest version.
