ASRock has released a new BIOS version developed for several of its IMB motherboard series, namely build 1.30 compatible with the IMB-161-D, IMB-161-L, IMB-171-D, IMB-171-L, IMB-183, and IMB-184 units.

When it comes to changes, while the IMB-161-D, IMB-161-L, IMB-171-D, and IMB-171-L devices get their COM ports function modified, the IMB-183 and IMB-184 motherboards benefit from more changes.

Specifically speaking, BIOS 1.30 updates the Management Engine (ME) version, fixes the LVDS panel issue that sometimes couldn’t lit, and allows the BIOS to display LVDS ROM version information.

As for upgrading to the latest version, the producer has made available 3 downloadable packages each describing a different update method: and Instant Flash file which must be used with the related utility from the BIOS setup, as well as a DOS and a Windows package.

Still, bear in mind that, if you intend to apply a new BIOS, we recommend that you read and understand the installation steps, and initiate the process only when you have completely familiarized yourself with the procedure.

Moreover, since a power disruption can seriously damage the board’s BIOS, it would be best if you performed the upgrade in a steady power environment such as the one ensure by a UPS unit so that no problems are encountered.

That being said, download ASRock IMB Series BIOS 1.30 for the proper device, take into account all aforementioned aspects, apply the latest version, and enjoy your newly update motherboard.
