ASRock has just launched new BIOS versions for its IMB-170 and IMB-110 series motherboards. The new releases update the COM port function.

As usual, the BIOS files come in the usual Windows, Instant Flash, and DOS versions, of which ASRock recommends the second one, which uses the BIOS built-in flashing utility.

If the motherboards' names sound unfamiliar to you, it might be because they aren't meant to go in your everyday PC, but in POSes, ATMs, street ads, or slot machines.

Updating the BIOS takes just a few minutes using the Instant Flash utility. All you need to do is download the file from the link below and extract it to your hard drive or a USB drive.

Plug the flash drive to the machine that needs updating and, in the current BIOS, go to the “Smart” menu and select the “ASRock Instant Flash.” The utility will automatically detect the suitable update files and display them. Hit the “Enter” key and have a little patience while the installation completes.

Below are the links to the new BIOSes. Download, install, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
