14 DAY TRIAL // Today, ASRock has outed numerous BIOS versions developed for several of its Z87, H87, H81, and B85 chipset-based motherboards, which add a “USB Compatibility Patch” option in the BIOS setup menu.
Moreover, for all the compatible boards (except for the Z87E-ITX and H87E-ITX/ac devices), the newly released packages also modify the “FIVR Switch Frequency Offset” feature so that the system can resume from sleep state S3 (or Standby mode).
As for the suitable devices, ASRock’s updates are as follows: BIOS version 2.30 for Z87 Extreme3 and Z87E-ITX boards, version 1.90 for H87 Pro4 and Z87 Pro4 products, and the 2.40 BIOS compatible with the Z87 Pro3 motherboard.
In addition to that, the producer also made available the 1.30, 1.50, 1.60, 1.70, 1.80, and 2.00 packages that must be installed only on the B85M-HDS, H81M-GL, H87E-ITX/ac, B85M-GL, Z87M Extreme4, and B85 Pro4 devices, respectively.
When it comes to installing these updates, you should know that applying a newer BIOS package is recommended only when the version you are about to install fixes a specific problem that you have been encountering. Otherwise, it’s just a risk that you can avoid taking.
