AMD has made available a new beta Catalyst package, namely version 14.4 release candidate, which is compatible with Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems, both 32- and 64-bit architectures.

This newly-released update adds support for AMD’s Radeon R9 295X graphics card, provides full OpenGL 4.4 support by adding several extensions, and fixes the performance slowdown and fuzzy images issues encountered in certain situations when playing Battlefield 4.

Through this new version, other games also receive various CrossFire improvements: Crysis 3 gets frame pacing enhancements, Far Cry 3 can now be played at higher details, and Anno 2070 and Metro Last Light have the CrossFire scaling raised up to 34% and 10%, respectively.

In addition to that, Titanfall in-game flickering when CrossFire is enabled is now fixed, Eyefinity 3x1 works properly even with three 4K panels, and stuttering is enhanced (when on mid-Eyefinity resolutions with V-sync enabled).

Bear in mind that this version is still a beta release and is provided “as is” and under AMD’s terms and conditions. The producer cannot be held responsible for any related damage caused by installing the package.

If you intend to apply this update, you can perform this task on either desktop or notebook configurations by running the downloadable executable and following the displayed instructions. Also, do restart the system to ensure that all changes take effect properly.

That being said, download AMD Catalyst Graphics Driver 14.4 Release Candidate, install the package, and enjoy your newly-updated computer.
