Just now, Sony has released a new firmware package targeted at its PlayStation 4 gaming consoles, namely version 3.55, which is basically a minor update designed to improve overall system performance.

If you intend to apply this upgrade, first ensure that your console is currently running Sony PlayStation 4 Firmware 3.50 or an older version, and only afterwards save the appropriate .PUP file.

Specifically speaking, Sony has provided an upgrade package (approximately 287MB) that requires you to use an FAT32-formatted USB stick, create a “PS4/UPDATE” path on it, and save the downloadable .PUP file in the “Update” folder.

Afterwards, you must connect the drive, go to Settings > System Software Update, follow all instructions displayed on-screen, and apply the new firmware version on your console without erasing any user data or modifying settings.

On the other hand, the producer has also made available a re-installation package (approximately 838MB). This file applies clean 3.55 software and deletes all users, data, settings, and any other files found on the console.

In addition to that, to initiate the installation, you must completely turn off your PS4, connect the stick, power the console back on, and select the “Initialize PS4 (Reinstall System Software)” option. The USB drive must be prepared just as described above.

That being said, download Sony PlayStation 4 Firmware 3.55, apply it, and constantly check our website in order to be up to speed with the latest releases.
