Sony BRAVIA KDL-46EX700 HDTV Firmware 4.131

Sony has designed the BRAVIA Televisions software update process to be customer friendly. This software update (version 4.131) provides the following benefits: 

Improvements over version 4.118:

- Enables Transport Layer Security 1.0 (TLS1.0) to enhance security of Internet applications
- Improves reliability to the Secure Sockets Layer 3.0 (SSL3.0)

Benefits provided by previous updates and included in version 4.131:

- Improved performance and stability of the Internet TV features
- Improved stability for the initial/add scan for receiving digital channels.
- Improves performance and stability of IPTV (Internet Protocol TV) features.
Note: IPTV allows you to enjoy HD (High Definition) programming from the Internet on your BRAVIA television that is connected to a broadband Internet connection.
- Installs an updated version of the on-screen i-Manual built into the BRAVIA television.
- Allows for the power-on chime sound coming through the TV speakers (not through the Optical Out) to be turned off in the Sound Menu.
- Resolves an issue where a black and white picture may occasionally appear when using Video/Component shared input.
- Adds support for the Sony Entertainment Network Music and Video Unlimited services.
- Improves performance and stability of IPTV (Internet Protocol TV) features.
Note: IPTV allows you to enjoy HD (High Definition) programming from the Internet on your BRAVIA television that is connected to a broadband Internet connection.
- Resolves an issue where the TV's clock may reset and the electronic program guide information may not be synchronized with the actual time.

Updating the Software

Note: The software update takes approximately five minutes to complete. During the update process, the screen on your BRAVIA television will display progress information, or may be blank. This is normal. Please do not remove the USB storage device until the update is complete.

Do not turn off the TV set or disconnect it from the power supply during the update process. Doing so may damage your TV set and make it unusable, or may require service.

- Power on the TV.
- Insert the USB storage device into the USB port located on the side of the TV. 
Note: The USB storage device can only be inserted into the USB port slot one way.
- Once the USB storage device has been detected, a message appears indicating that the files are being updated.
WARNING: Do not turn off the TV set or disconnect it from the power supply during the update process. Doing so may damage your TV set and make it unusable, or may require service.
- A series of different messages will appear on the TV set. Please follow the on screen instructions.
- During the update the POWER indicator will be green for 30 seconds, followed by the PIC OFF/TIMER indicator slowly flashing amber, and the STANDBY indicator is red. After several minutes, the TV will turn off and then turn back on to complete the update.
- Please wait until a message appears indicating The software update is complete or indicating No newer version of the TV software was found.
- Remove the USB device from the TV.
- You may delete the update files from the USB device, or reformat the USB device.
- The update process is now complete.
