Bug Fixes:

- Multicast addresses 239.255.255.254 & 239.255.255.255 are removed from the reserved multicast list that they are treated as regular addresses that its packet will be dropped if IGMP snooping is enabled on the port.
- L3 multicast configuration command “ip multicast” is removed from the default switch configuration. Switch running firmware versions 12.0.11.8 or 12.0.11.10 using L3 multicast configuration will need to add the command “ip multicast” manually to restore L3 multicast functionality. This does not apply to the L2 multicast configuration.
- Removed an IGMP snooping log message “SNOOP[snoopTask]: snooping_outcalls.c(1286) 1150 %% Couldn't get outgoing vlan intf mask for group 224.1.1.20, vlan 1”.
- Enhanced tech-support file to collect the output of the command “show spanning-tree active”.
- If IGMP snooping enabled for VLANs other than management VLAN (VLAN 1) in 12.0.9.x or prior releases and is upgraded to 12.0.11.8 or 12.0.11.10 then control traffic sent to reserved multicast addresses (such as PTP, routing protocols traffic) is getting dropped. This issue is fixed in the 12.0.11.11 release.
- Stack master randomly reboots every 30-60 days. This was due to a memory leak in Bonjour and a few other processes which are fixed in 12.0.11.11 release.

Known Issues:

- A new GUI page is added in 12.0.11.x release under Routing > Multicast > Mroute Static-Multicast Configuration. This page doesn’t show up when the switch firmware is upgraded from 12.0.9.x to 12.0.11.x. Clear the browser cache to view this newly added page.

About Switch Firmware:

Given the large variety of models and different methods for upgrading the switch, if you wish to apply this package, we recommend that you read and understand the installation steps before you install a new firmware, even if you are a power user.

Usually the update procedure isn't much of a hassle as manufacturers try to make it as simple as possible; however, there are cases that are exceptions to this rule. First off, go to the system information page of the switch to check that the currently installed version isn't either newer or matching this release.

Applying a new firmware can decrease the security vulnerabilities, enhance overall performance and compatibility, improve various power management functions, resolve different errors, and add support for newly developed technologies and protocols.

It is recommended that you perform this step in a steady power environment such as the one ensured by a UPS unit, and that you don't interrupt the upgrade in any way, because this might cause the switch to malfunction.

That being said, click the download button, get and apply the new version, and check back with our website constantly to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
