This package contains the Intel Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI) driver for the supported desktop models and operating systems.
This driver provides support for AHCI, which is required for hot plug support of external SATA (eSATA) drives. This driver also supports Native Command Queuing (NCQ).

PREREQUISITES:
- SATA Controller must be configured in AHCI mode in order for this driver to be operational. Use the F10 Setup Utility to select storage, and then select storage options and set SATA Emulation.
It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
