HP Compaq Thin Clients Windows Embedded Standard Image 5.1.710 Rev.A

This package contains the tools and image needed to restore or replace the operating system image on the supported thin client models running the Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard (WES) Operating System.

NOTE

: The 5.1.710.WES0  image contained in this package can be deployed to a supported Thin Client model with a minimum of a 2-GB flash memory card and 1 GB of RAM.

- An image that is entirely based on the Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard (WES).
- HP Device Manager Agent version 4.0.
- HP Client Automation RALF Agent version 7.5.31.0.
- ThinState Capture Tool version 3.0.0.23.
- HP SAM Client version 2.3.0.9.
- Includes Symantec Endpoint Protection Firewall rules.
- HP System Information Utility version 1.1.0.4.
- HP Remote Graphics Receiver version 5.2.0.
- TeemTalk Terminal Emulator version 7.0.1.2613.
- TeemTalk Configuration Wizard version 7.0.1.2613.
- HP RDP Multimedia and USB Enhancements Client version 6.0.13.
- VMware View Client version 3.0.0 Build-127642.
- Citrix XenApp Plugin for Hosted Applications version 11.0.0.5357.
- RDC version 6.0.6001, which supports RDP version 6.1.
- DirectX9 Component.
- A "User" account that is part of the "Power Users" group (not the
"Administrators" group).
- HP FTP Image Update Client for HP gt7720, t5730w, and t5630w Thin Client models only.

NOTE

: For the FTP Image Update to function properly, it requires the following available free space:

~200 MB of flash
~250 MB of RAM

The WES image or images (in .IBR format) and the WinPE boot image, which are provided by HP in the form of an add-on, must reside in the same folder on the FTP server. FTP Image Update over wireless is not supported. For greater usage flexibility, experience, and to take advantage of this, and all features provided in this latest image, HP recommends at least 2 GB of flash and 1 GB of RAM.

FIXES:
This image contains all applicable Microsoft HotFixes up to and including the following Microsoft Knowledge Base Article:

- Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 961260, "MS09-002: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer."

PREREQUISITES:
Successful deployment and operation of the English image requires a minimum of:

- 2-GB flash memory card
- 1 GB of RAM

For greater usage flexibility and experience HP recommends at least:

- 2-GB flash memory card
- 2 GB of RAM

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Download the file by clicking the "Download" or "Obtain Software" button and saving the file to a folder on your hard drive (make a note of the folder where the downloaded file is saved).

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

This SoftPaq contains a utility that is designed to aid in the deployment of this factory image.

During the installation, you are prompted to choose one of the following actions:
- Format a USB drive with the image and tools.
- Unpack the contents into a directory of your choice.

If you are not sure about how to proceed, or if you want to integrate this image into a managed environment, choose "Deployment" and review the documentation provided in the RECOVERY.PDF file.

NOTE: To determine the version of your operating system, click the Start button, which is located in the lower-left corner of the display screen, and then select HP System Information. In the System Information panel that is displayed, check the value beside the Image Version label.
