The SMSC IrCC Software Installation Utility installs to the target system a Windows INF file and a smcirda.sys file which outline to the operating system how the IrCC components will be configured.
This is needed for the proper functioning of the following features:
- IrDA Ver 1.1 Wireless Infrared Technology Support
- Correct Configuration of SMSC IrCC components
- Correct Identification of SMSC IrCC Components in Device Manager
This distribution also includes the driver files (*.SYS and *.INF) for each operating system. They may be used to install the driver by way of the Device Manager if desired or required.
