The AirForce BCM4320 is Broadcom's latest 54g solution with integrated USB 2.0 capabilities. It enables manufacturers to add high-performance Wi-Fi connectivity to any device with a USB 2.0 port, including PCs, computer peripherals, and consumer electronic devices. By combining an 802.11a/g MAC/baseband, USB 2.0 transceiver, processor core and memory into a single package, the BCM4320 not only reduces the size and power consumption of a wireless module, but also lowers bill-of-materials (BOM) costs by up to 50 percent. The on-chip processor and memory are capable of running all wireless functions on-chip, allowing embedded system designers to add wireless LAN technology to a variety of platforms without burdoning the host processor. The solution can also be used in external USB adapters, which equip USB-enabled devices with high-speed wireless connectivity.
The BCM4320 supports Broadcom's SecureEasySetup and 125 High Speed Mode technologies. These features enable consumers to easily extend their high-speed wireless networks with a broad range of next generation products, including printers, set-top boxes, digital cameras, gaming machines and multimedia devices.
