Notes:

- Known Issue is defined as a potential Intel RST issue that has been replicated internally by the Intel RST team but has not been root caused to be an Intel RST defect.
- The RAID OROM & UEFI version for this release is 17.2.0.3790, the driver and user interface version is 17.2.0.1009 and Intel Optane Memory and Storage Management (HSA) driver version 17.0.1011.0. For Intel RST Premium features (e.g. RAID, Intel Optane memory, CPU Attached Storage), it is required that both the Intel RST pre-OS and Intel RST OS driver components are updated to these latest versions. Please contact your CE for further details.
- Security update: Intel RST 17.2.0.1009 has been updated to include SqLite DLL version 3.27.1, which includes functional and security updates. Users should update to the latest Intel RST version. (SqLite DLL is used to maintain the database for storing file related information by the NGSA service which is used for File caching). Configuration Impacted: Intel Optane Memory volume – 32 GB and higher.
- Intel Optane Memory and Storage Management (HSA) UI is supported only in Intel RST Premium with Intel Optane System Acceleration (RAID Mode). It is not supported in AHCI mode. Appropriate wording notification for “Intel Optane Memory and Storage Management (HSA) being installed successfully in AHCI mode” would be added in the later Intel Optane Memory and Storage Management (HSA) release.
- If RTD3 is enabled, Windows can turn off disk for very short time (e.g. 20ms). The minimum off time for some disks can be much longer (even 1s). If the disk is turned on too fast, it can hang in some undefined state. RTD3 should be disabled if the disk specification states longer minimum off time.

Intel Optane Memory UI/Installer:

This configuration method can be used by experienced and inexperienced users. It automates any BIOS configuration tasks required (like selecting the proper PCH SATA mode and enabling remapping).

The following steps in this process will automatically accomplish all of the following tasks depending on the state of your system:
- Install the required SW needed for Intel Optane memory
- Select the proper mode for the PCH SATA controller
- Enable remapping required for PCIe NVMe devices
- Installs the Intel Optane Memory UI
- And finally enable System Acceleration with Intel Optane Memory

If any of the steps above are already in the required state the installer will automatically skip those steps that are not required and complete the installation and configuration process
1. Obtain the Intel Optane memory SW/driver installation package and run the executable (SetupOptaneMemory.exe)
2. Install the defaults
3. When this part of the installation process completes the system should auto-reboot to continue the process
A. During this reboot the system will accomplish any required system configuration (BIOS settings) and may reboot
B. When complete, the system will reboot back to the Windows desktop
4. The installation continues and completes driver installation
5. A pop-up will prompt you to continue to enable Intel Optane Memory volume; click Yes
6. The Intel Optane Memory UI will launch and complete the Intel Optane Memory enabling process
7. Once the migration process completes you will be prompted to reboot
8. Reboot to Windows and this completes the configuration process
