HP EliteBook 8440p Intel RST Driver 9.6.0.1014 Rev.A

This package provides the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST) Driver that enables the Intel Storage Controller. The RST driver, which is the new Intel Hard Drive Storage Driver, includes Microsoft Windows 7 TRIM command support for solid state drives (SSDs), as well as adding support for new hard drives with 4-KB sectors (also known as 4K hard drives).

NOTE: If your HP Notebook currently uses the Intel Matrix Storage Manager (MSM) Driver, you can choose to stay with the MSM driver or you can update to the RST driver. The RST driver must be used in order to take advantage of the new enhancements. 

Fixes:

- Includes TRIM command support for SSDs on notebooks that are running a Microsoft Windows 7 Operating System.
- Adds support for new hard drives with 4-KB sectors (also known as 4K hard drives).

Installation steps (for exe / zip):

1. Save the driver files to your computer.
2. Run the executable or extract the installation files to a location on your disk.
3. Follow the steps displayed by the setup wizard.
4. After installation, restart the computer.

Important notes:

- Before installation, save all your work and close all the running programs, as the installation may interfere with other apps;
- If the setup wizard requests Administrative rights, make sure to run the setup as Administrator;
- Pay attention to all installation instructions to make sure the driver is installed correctly;
