This driver package supports the operating system/boot device included in the RAID array and standalone NVMe boot device with a separate SATA RAID storage array.

Release Highlights:

Fixed Issues:

- Installation fails when the windows username contains a non-Latin character
- Installer QT UI may become non-responsive when Installer minimized and maximized multiple times during installation
- Cancelling the Installer by clicking “X” and then select “No” on the dialog box will take the user back to the Install screen on some Test configurations.

Known Issues:

- Double-clicking the Installer EXE multiple times shows Error pop-up
- Installer UI may appear in the background when launched.
- Installer may take a long time (~ 10 min) to complete RAID Components installation on upgrade scenarios.
- Double-clicking the Installer EXE multiple times shows Error pop-up window.
- Installer UI screen disappears during installation on a remote system when the user manually disconnects the RDP session and re-connect back.
- Installer goes to minimized and hang state on the remote system when the user minimizes the RDP session to the taskbar during the Installer NSIS extraction phase.

Procedure to install AMD RAID Software:

- Run the executable AMD_RAID_Software_<Version>.exe.
- Accept the EULA agreement and proceed with Installation.
- User can selectively install the required AMD RAID components listed. (Recommended to install all the components listed).
- Once the Installation is complete, system reboot is required for AMD RAID drivers to function properly.

Procedure to Uninstall AMD RAID Software:

- NOTE: RAID Drivers will never be uninstalled by AMD RAID Software Installer, since it is a Boot Critical driver, uninstallation can lead to system failure.
- Open Control Panel & Browse to Programs and Features.
- Check for AMD RAID Software. Select Uninstall.
- User can select or unselect the intended AMD RAID components to be uninstalled.

Procedure to install via Command prompt With GUI mode:

- Navigate to AMD_RAID_Software_<Version>.zip’ containing folder in cmd.exe and run AMD_RAID_Software<Version>.exe.
- Accept the EULA agreement and proceed with Installation.
- User can selectively install the required AMD RAID components listed. (Recommended to install all the components listed).
- Once the Installation is complete, system reboot is required for AMD RAID drivers to work properly.

Procedure to install via Command prompt Silent Mode Installation:

- Invoke command prompt in Admin mode and execute the applicable commands mentioned in Attended Installation/Un-attended Installation sections below.
- Once the Installation is complete, system reboot is required for AMD RAID drivers to work properly.

Procedure to install via Command prompt Attended Installation:

- START /WAIT "" <path to executable with exe name> /S

Procedure to install via Command prompt Un-attended Installation:

- Important Note: Before continuing with NVMe RAID driver installation, ensure that the NVMe mode is configured as RAID in your motherboard BIOS. You should also take a backup of the data on your NVMe drives before executing below command.
- Install RAID NVMe Drivers: START /WAIT "" <path to executable with exe name> /S /RAIDPROMPT="Y"
- Important Note: Before continuing with SATA RAID driver installation, ensure that the both the SATA Controllers are configured as RAID in your motherboard BIOS.
- Install RAID SATA Drivers: START /WAIT "" <path to executable with exe name> /S /RAIDPROMPT="N"

Silent Mode un-installation:

- NOTE: RAID Drivers will never be uninstalled by AMD_RAID_Software<Version>.exe, since it is a Boot Critical driver, uninstallation can lead to system failure.
- Invoke command prompt in Admin mode and execute below command.
- START /WAIT "" <path to executable with exe name> /S /EXPRESSUNINSTALL=1 

About SATA / AHCI / RAID Drivers:

When you install an operating system, SATA settings (be it AHCI, RAID, or IDE mode) are detected from the BIOS. If you want to change from one mode to another after the OS has been applied, appropriate drivers are required.

Bear in mind that if you modify these settings without installing proper files first, the operating system will not be able to boot until changes are reverted or required drivers are applied.

To perform the latter task, get the package, run the available setup and follow the instructions displayed on-screen for a complete installation. Afterwards, perform a system reboot so that all changes take effect, enter BIOS menu, and set the SATA option to the mode that best describes the newly applied drivers.
