For TR200 with v13.1 firmware update aims to address non-critical bugs and/or improve the performance of your SSD. It is strongly recommended that you update your SSD.

RC100 Changes:

- Fixes bug with SMART reporting

Known Issues:

- Known compatibility issue with MacBook Pro NVIDIA based chipsets: MCP79, MCP89K.
- Known compatibility issue with motherboards with NVIDIA nForce-9 series desktop chipsets.

This is a maintenance release of SSD Utility, with the following enhancements:

- Change indication of "Health"
- Bug fixes and reliability enhancements

Known Issues:

- RC100 and RD400 are partially supported on Windows 7. Users should use Windows 10 or Bootable Tools to perform firmware update and to access the other features of SSD Utility not available in Windows 7.
- On Windows 7 SMART data is not available therefore "Value not available" is always displayed regardless of the actual health of your drive. You will need to find an alternative method to read the health of your drive if you are concerned.
- On Windows 8.1 the RC100 is not supported.
- On Windows 8.1 when the RD400 is in use and its "Health" is less than 0%, a message "Value not available" will be displayed. This means you need to replace your SSD as soon as possible.
- TL100 Firmware update may fail on Windows 7 if the Intel RSTe driver is installed. To work around this, use bootable SSD Utility to perform the update.
- TL100 benchmark results may degrade if re-run immediately after a previous benchmark. Workaround is to wait a minute or two before re-running the benchmark.
- On some PCs it is impossible to perform secure-erase: this happens if the PC BIOS issues SECURITY FREEZE LOCK the drive, and does not implement the suspend/resume cycle used to unfreeze it. Workaround is to use the secure erase feature in the BIOS if there is one, otherwise to perform secure erase on another PC.
- On some laptops with dual Intel & NVIDIA graphics, SSD Utility may crash. This can be fixed by updating the Intel & NVIDIA drivers.
- The mouse cursor is not displayed when using Bootable SSD Utility with a DisplayPort connection with a GeForce 1070. Workaround is to boot in safe mode.
- Due to a bug in version 2.2.2645, when using the update feature from within the application, the update may fail with a message “Error installing.” Workaround is to download manually the latest version from ocz.com.
- Secure Erase will produce an error if the target drive is in use (for example, drive is being read or written to).
- The text on the Setup - Notifications pane “Suppress unsafe power loss alerts” is not clickable unlike other text in this area.
- In a rare corner case, the password hint may become corrupted. While the password hint is corrupted, the password remains, and the XS700 can be locked/unlocked.

Important Notes About SSD Utility:

- Windows and Linux: Make sure to set your SATA controller to AHCI mode in the motherboard BIOS if it is not; for instructions see the user documentation for your computer.
- SSD Utility is required to be run as a system administrator.
- Internet connection is required for firmware and BIOS update.
- Updating your firmware with the SSD Utility is not supported under Windows XP.
- Make back-up copies of any data on the SSD that you want to keep; some operations result in the complete loss of data on the SSD (you will be warned if this will occur).

About SSD Firmware:

Changing the solid-state drive (SSD) firmware version can bring about a wide variety of changes such as stability improvements for different sleep states, power consumption enhancements, increased read/write speeds, optimized compatibility with various systems, and many others.

However, performing this step is very risky because it can damage the SSD's software in the event of an update failure. Therefore, make sure you consider changing the firmware only when and if the new version includes changes that you can make use of.

As for the installation method, given the huge number of SSD manufacturers and the wide variety of solid-state drives, it's recommended that you carefully read and understand the update guide, and initiate the upgrade only when you have completely familiarized yourself with the steps.

In addition to that, most SSD manufacturers also require additional software that will help you apply a new firmware using a specific method – so make sure you have everything you need for a complete and successful upgrade.

Another aspect you should keep in mind is that this task must be performed in a steady power environment, such as the one provided by a UPS unit. Don't forget to reboot the system so that the newly made changes can take effect.

That being said, if this release includes the changes you need / desire, click the download button and get the firmware file. If not, check with our website constantly in order to find out first when a suitable update becomes available.
