This is the R9.4 M0 product release, the first release of 9.4 driver. It has been put through our full system tests and is suitable for deployment to end-users.

DisplayLink software release 9.4 delivers:

- Video performance improvements for DL-6000 series products on Intel based platforms running Windows 10, enhanced software performance providing benefits when in a WFH/office environment when e.g. running video conferencing software, up to 15% GPU resource reduction.
- Improved usability features for the DL-4000 series chips, power button support, brightness button control for displays, splash screen showing when firmware is updating from this version onwards.
- Bug fixes.

Issues fixed in 9.4 M0 release (9.4.3838.0/9.4.3838.0)

- DL-6000 series: Blu-ray and DVD content does not show on DisplayLink connected displays with Windows 10 20H1 and latest Intel graphics drivers (31667)
- DL-3000/DL-5000 series: Fixed compatibility with some specific DisplayPort monitors not always being detected as connected (31596)
- DL-6000 series: Dell U3219Q DisplayPort monitor can remain blank if system is resumed after shut down, but appear in Windows display properties (31113)

Known Issues:

- When upgrading from R8.1, disconnecting and re-plugging the USB of the product using DisplayLink technology is necessary (25057, 25075)
- For security reason, we recommend Windows 7 users have KB2533623 installed (31031)
- Windows 7 requires Microsoft KB3033929 or later installed to validate SHA-256 driver signature hashing. SHA1 has been deprecated (23965)
- Devices with mass storage or auto-install are not supported by Windows 10 UMDF USB driver DisplayLink uses (21959)
- Windows 10 Anniversary Update sets the wrong preferred mode 9124025 (23871)

To install this package please do the following:

- Make sure that all system requirements are met.
- Save the downloadable package on an accessible location (such as your desktop).
- Locate and double-click on the newly-downloaded file.
- Allow Windows to run the file (if necessary).
- Read EULA (End User Licence Agreement) and agree to proceed with the installation process.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Close the wizard and perform a system reboot to allow changes to take effect.
