CPLD Changes:

1. Version change to 0x30 DNP v4p8, mailbox and SGPIO.

Update BIOS using sysfwupdt utility in UEFI environment

1. Unzip the contents of the update package and copy all files to the root directory of a USB flash drive
2. Insert the USB flash drive into available USB port on the system to be updated
3. Power on the server and load the uEFI shell. Press <Esc> to terminate autostart.
4. Run UpdBIOS_DNP.nsh script. After BIOS update file is loaded into the staging area, the server will be powered off with the system status LED blinking green/orange and the blue ID LED is solid on for about 10 minutes. During this time the system reprogramms the BIOS under control of PFR.
5. Once the BIOS update process has successfully completed, the system will reset automatically couple of times and finaly boot. The whole process takes around 15 minutes.

Update BIOS using BMC Web Console

1. Open BMC Web Console and login
2. Go to Configuration > BIOS/IFWI Firmware Update
3. if desired select "Recovery" and/or "Reset Immediately" checkboxes
4. Choose the File (XXX_EBG_SPR_UpdateCapsule_prd.bin)
5. Click "Upload"
6. BIOS will be updated on the next reboot (if "Reset Immediately" checkbox was not selected).
7. Do NOT interrupt the BIOS POST during the first boot.

To use the BIOS SVN Downgrade jumper, perform the following steps:

1. Power down the server module.
2. Remove the server module from the chassis.
3. Remove the riser assembly #2 from the server module. (See the Intel Server D50DNP Family Integration and Service Guide for details).
4. Move the BIOS SVN Downgrade jumper (J14) from pins 1–2 (default) to pins 2–3.
5. Reinstall the server module in the chassis.
6. Power on the server module and boot into the UEFI Shell.
7. Update the BIOS with the required image using the "-recovery" switch on the sysfwupdt.efi command line. Ex.: sysfwupdt.efi -u xxx.bin -recovery
8. After BIOS update is successfully completed, power down the server module.
9. Remove the server module from the chassis.
10. Move the BIOS SVN Downgrade jumper (J14) back to pins 1–2 (default).
11. Reinstall the riser assembly #2.
12. Reinstall the server module in the chassis.
13. Power on the server module. During POST, press <F2> to access the BIOS setup utility to configure and save desired BIOS options.

Update BMC usingsysfwupdt utility in UEFI environment

1. Unzip the contents of the update package and copy all files to the root directory of a USB flash drive
2. Insert the USB flash drive into available USB port on the system to be updated
3. Power on the server and load the uEFI shell. Press <Esc> to terminate autostart.
4. Run UpdBMC_DNP.nsh script. After the script completes loading the BMC firmware file into the staging area, restart the server to begin the programming process. The status LED will blink green/orange for about 10 minutes.
5. Once the BMC update process has successfully completed, the system will boot automatically. The whole process takes around 15 minutes.

Update BMC usingBMC Web Console

1. Open BMC Web Console and login
2. Go to Configuration > BMC Firmware Update
3. if desired, select "Recovery" and/or "Reset Immediately" checkboxes
4. Choose the File (dnp-signed-OBMC-egs-1.95-0-ga44f42-39e80000-pfr-oob.bin)
5. Click "Upload"
6. BMC will be updated on the next reboot (if "Reset Immediately" checkbox was not selected).

FRU INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:

1. Ensure BMC FW release v1.36-0 or later is pre-installed before attempting this FRU update.
2. Copy all of the files and directories in the D50DNP_FRU_0.09.zip archive to a USB flash drive, hard disk drive or floppy drive.
3. Execute the following script to bring up the main FRU load menu: UpdFRU_DNP.nsh
4. If want to directly update FRU without prompt selection: fru_update_noprompt.nsh

IMPORTANT NOTES:

- Firmware check is not applicable, hence updates will be triggered even when the versions in the system and in the SFUP package are same.
- Do NOT interrupt or reboot or remove power from your system during the update process. Doing so may render your system inoperable.
- Do NOT attempt to down rev the system software once loaded on to the system. Doing so may render your system inoperable.
- All updates provided in this package are installed using the Windows and Linux operating environment only.
- Do not modify any of the script files. The scripts as written will provide the most reliable update experience.
- Refer to the userguide which is available in sysfwupdt folder for any update sceanrios or sysfwupdt commands.
- R01.02.0001_CAPSULE_Customized_signed.cap file needs to be modified before update. Otherwise update will fail

About Firmware Updates:
