PLEASE NOTE:
It is strongly recommended that you backup any data on the SATAIII/6G drives if in a raid configuration before flashing the Marvell chipset. In rare occurrences the raid will degrade and could lose data.
If this is a new installation, flashing of firmware is recommended before installation of data to the drive to minimize any issues that may occur after the flash if in a raid configuration.
After firmware is flashed to the Marvell controller the drivers should be reinstalled to avoid any possible issues that can arise as it recognizes the controller differently after the flash.
It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
