Atomos Samurai Blade Recorder Firmware 5.02

NEW FEATURES:

- Enabled clear overlay function when WFM and Monitor Assist settings are displayed
- Enabled WFM size change touch zone in bottom right of screen in playback mode
- Display “No input” image in place of just a blank screen
- Added Canon 5D Mark III input color correction option to record SMPTE Rec 709 correctly

NEW FIXES:

- Firmware ID is now correctly displayed
- Fixed video input button occasionally disabled for interlaced modes
- Fixed occasional unit lock up when browsing large directories in playback
- RGB Parade accuracy improved
- GUI elements refined, occasional flicker removed

UPDATE PROCEDURE:

- Download and unzip (if necessary) the ATOMBLD.FW file
- Copy the file onto a recommended, formatted drive, using the docking station included with your recorder
- Insert the drive into the Atomos recorder
- Power up the Atomos recorder
- The screen will show flashing lines of colour. This is normal – DO NOT power off!
- Updating will take a few minutes
- Once completed, the Atomos recorder will power down
- Power up the Atomos recorder again
- Check Menu > Samurai Blade Info > AtomOS Version – this should match the version you have just downloaded

Applying a new firmware package on your Video Recorder adapter should improve overall performance and stability, fix various issues encountered with the device, or add support for newly developed features.

The Video Recorder adapter should be carefully upgraded by a power user (that is to say, someone who has the know-how to successfully complete the process), but it can also be performed by an average user at his or her own risk.

Either way, given the fact that each producer has their own method for installing a new firmware, and that every device has a particular way to enter the update mode, you must not consider upgrading the adapter's software until you have read and thoroughly understood the installation steps.

Usually, you should transfer the compatible firmware to the Recorder through a USB cable or a memory card, and afterwards enter update mode from the unit's setup menu or through a specific power-on method.
