NVIDIA has announced the availability of a new version of its RTX/Quadro graphics driver, namely build 472.47 (470 U6), which adds support for new Omniverse features announced at NVIDIA GTC to further assist 3D artists and designers.

Specifically speaking, this Production Branch (PB) release is compatible with Omniverse VR (for real-time ray-traced VR), Omniverse Remote (for connecting artists with fully ray-traced assets through iOS and Android devices), as well as Omniverse Showroom (for quick and easy demonstrations of Omniverse technology).

Moreover, build 472.47 includes support for Houdini 19, V-Ray 5 Update 2, OctaneRender 2021.1 (for realistic reflections with motion blur), Twinmotion 2022.1 (support for accelerated RTX ray racing by RT cores), and NVIDIA Texture Tools (new API substantially reduces memory usage).

In terms of compatibility, the available files are suitable only for the 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 10 and 11 operating systems, for both desktop and notebook configurations.

Moreover, the producer has provided additional executables targeted at the 64-bit architectures of Windows Server 2012 R2, Server 2016, Server 2019, and Server 2022 platforms (but only for desktops).

As for the Windows 10 packages, take into account that these packages are as follows: one DCH (Declarative, Componentized, Hardware Support Apps) and one Standard file. To see what is ok for your configuration, locate Driver Type under the System Information menu in the NVIDIA Control Panel.

Therefore, if you want to upgrade, download NVIDIA RTX/Quadro Graphics Driver 472.47 designed for your operating system, run it, wait for all data required for the installation to be extracted, and follow all instructions displayed on the screen for a complete and successful upgrade.

Once finished, make sure to perform a system reboot to allow all changes to take effect properly. If this task isn’t requested automatically by the wizard, it would be a good idea to carry it out manually so that any possible problems are avoided.
