The update adds RAW video output using Blackmagic recorders

Today, Nikon rolled out a new firmware package targeted at its latest Z6 II and Z7 II digital cameras, namely versions 1.10, which improves eye-detection performance in both Auto-area AF (people) and Wide-area AF (L-people) modes.

In addition to that, these updates also include RAW video output support using Blackmagic Design external video recorders (however, 4K UHD 60p/50p output isn’t possible), and allows Apple Final Cut Pro X users to display/adjust ISO sensitivity and color temperature for ProRes RAW footage through ATOMOS NINJA V recorders.

Moreover, the cameras won’t have problems downloading location data via SnapBridge when used with an MB-N11 power battery pack, which the Z6 II alone receive 3840x2160@60p and 3840x2160@50p options in the MOVIE SHOOTING MENU.

When it comes to installation, first download and run the appropriate package for your computer OS; there are two files available: one for macOS systems and the other suitable for Windows 8.1 and 10 platforms.

Now, make sure to back up all images and important files stored on the camera’s internal memory, transfer the newly created “firmware” folder onto a formatted memory card, insert it into the camera and turn it on.

If all is ok, select Firmware Version, follow all instructions displayed on-screen and allow the camera to perform the installation. Do not remove the camera’s memory card/battery, or interrupt the upgrade in any way, as this will lead to severe malfunctions.

That said, download Nikon Z6 II Camera Firmware 1.10 or download Nikon Z7 II Camera Firmware 1.10, apply it using the steps mentioned above, and check back with us as often as possible to be aware when a newer version is available for your camera.
